Weber/Holley Air Cleaner Kit

Brand new rectangular chrome plated air cleaner assemblies to suit:
Weber 32/36 DGV, DGAV, DGEV, 38 DGMS, DGAS, DGES, DFV, DFAV, DFEV, and Holley licensed copies of all these carbys, as well as the Holley 5200/180.
These air cleaners will also fit other carbys such as the 32 DGV, 34 DMSA, 40 DFAV, etc, which require the same air cleaner base cut-out as the typical 32/36 DGV carby. Ideal for use with our carby & ported manifold package.

The two main styles that cover all of the above carbys are the DGV, which has the rectangular cutout in the air cleaner base, and the DFV, which has the oval shaped cutout. The two options are shown in the photos.
This
air cleaner kit is a complete and compact unit, which measures 172mm long, 115mm
wide, and has a 2.5” tall (63mm) high flow filter element.
Kit comes with air cleaner top and bottom chrome plates, high flow filter
element, carby to air cleaner base gasket, and sturdy chrome plated steel
retaining clips.
The Air cleaner base also has air connection to hook up crank case
breather/PCV valve if required.
The 2.5" high flow filter element is the cotton gauze style and is washable, similar to much more expensive brands like K&N, etc. Designed to maximize performance and airflow.
It
is important when selecting an air filter for a Weber DGV style carby that the
height of the element is sufficient so the airflow into the mouth of the carby
is not restricted. This is a
particular issue on the Weber DGV style carbys because the air inlet to the
carby has a raised alloy casting which sits 25-30mm up into the air cleaner,
therefore its vital to have enough clearance between the top of this cast alloy
air inlet riser and the inside ceiling of the air cleaner lid.
All
too often do I see people using 2”(50mm) and 2 ¼” (57mm) tall filter
elements on their Weber DGV style carbys and the top cover of the air cleaner is
placed too close to the mouth/air inlet of the carby, causing a potential air
flow restriction. This can limit
horse power production of the engine at high air flow levels.
This is why my air cleaners use the 2.5” tall (63mm) filter element
giving as much room as possible so air restriction is not an issue.
This air cleaner is a great way to restore the performance and economy of your Carby. A blocked or clogged up air filter will increase fuel consumption and reduce airflow and engine power, as the clogged filter increases the inlet manifold vacuum at any throttle opening. The higher vacuum causes extra fuel to be delivered by the carby, similar to if the choke is constantly on. This makes the air/fuel mixture richer than what it needs to be and costs both power and money.

The kit consists of:
- Air cleaner top and bottom chrome plates
- High flow cotton gauze washable filter element
- Carby to air cleaner base gasket
- Sturdy chrome plated steel retaining clips.
The Air cleaner base also has air connection to hook up crank case breather/PCV valve if required.
